How to clean couch or sofa

This sofa, with its deep cushions and sturdy frame, will help you add maximum comfort and style to any living space in your home. Different types of furniture and different materials require specific methods of care and you can keep your sofa clean and in good condition for many years. Leather furniture requires specific methods of care. There are several commercial and homemade products that can be used to clean your leather sofa. With regular maintenance and the right products, you can keep a leather sofa clean and in good condition for many years. Here, we are going to give you tips and on how to maintain your pricey luxury couch. 

Step 1:Remove large debris with a vacuum. 

Using the vacuum’s hand tool.Due to the fact that the crevice of couches allows for food debris, pet hair and all sorts of dirt to get stuck in sofas, it helps to first remove the floor brush of your vacuum cleaner before using a vacuum cleaner to clean your couch.It is more efficient to first clean it with a cotton wool roller, which can also be done manually.

Step 2: Doing Routine Cleaning

Clean non-fabric parts of the couch with detergent or laundry soap mixed with warm water. Ensure that you avoid using hard brush or any kind of hard material when cleaning your couch. If you do, they will cause wear and tears or even unwanted marks on your piece of furniture.

Step 3: Cleaning sofa fabric

This is very important, not just for the longevity of your piece of furniture, but for the longevity of anything made of fabrics that you own.Make sure to read the manufacture's label. When you do, you will know the kind of material or material blends used in making the fabric. This will save you a whole lot of trouble. Knowing the material used or the blend of materials used will determine the kind of solution to be used in cleaning it. Some manufactures will write what sort of solution should or should not be used on their fabrics. Some will tell you if the couch's cover can be removed and washed or not.The fabric of sofa has the following kinds commonly:

①Fabric sofa: 

You can use warm water mixed with white vinegar at a ratio of 1:3, and add a mild liquid soap to it. Put the solution in a spray bottle and then, spray and clean those areas with dirt. Clean off every stain and make sure to wipe off with a white towel. Dip the towel in water again, and wipe off the solution residue from the couch. When you are done, dry the couch with a dry towel.

②Leather Sofa: 

Leather material can easily be cleaned with a soft towel. You can equally up your game by mixing olive oil and white vinegar at the ratio of 1:2. Spray the solution on your couch with a spray bottle and wipe it with a towel.

③Suede & synthetic materials:

Their cleaning method is almost the same as those of normal fabrics. You can mix white vinegar, warm water and mild liquid soap at the ratio of 1:2:1. Repeat the same method of wetting stained areas by spraying the solution with a spray bottle and scrubbing with a soft cloth. You can also brush the fine fluff on the suede with a mild brush.

Step 4: Wipe the sofa dry

This is the last but not the least, and its a tip for airing the sofa dry. When cleaning the sofa, make sure to spray with an appropriate amount of liquid. Don't over spray so as so avoid deformation or shrinkage often cause by water seeping into the cushion, backrest and other areas. After you've cleaned it, make sure to wipe off any moist on it, and do that repeatedly with a dry towel. Better still, use an electric hand dryer to blow over all wet areas as quick as possible.
