Is there anyway I can get this with 2 type c outlets instead of the usb?

No, there is not. Customization is not acceptable. Sorry for the disappointment.

Could you clarify whether the color and finish of the nightstand is black laminate or is it like expresso veneer.

The color of the nightstand is black and the material of it is Medium Density Fiberboard.
